Crossplay Options in MLB The Show 26: Xbox vs PS
#1
MLB The Show 26 makes it easy for players on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch to play together. Whether you’re in Diamond Dynasty, Ranked, or Online Co-op, crossplay ensures you can team up or compete with friends no matter which console they use.
Key Crossplay Features
  • Unified Play: Xbox and PlayStation players share the same online lobbies. You won’t be limited by platform when jumping into multiplayer modes.
  • Cross-Progression: By linking your console accounts to one MLB The Show account, your progress, card collection, and inventory carry over between Xbox and PlayStation.
  • Stubs Are Platform-Locked: Purchased Stubs cannot be transferred between consoles. You’ll need to buy them separately if you switch platforms.
  • Stadium Creator: While you can play across platforms, creating custom stadiums is only available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Playing with Friends on Other Consoles
To join friends on a different console, use MLB The Show’s in-game system rather than your console’s friends list:
  1. Add Friends: Open your Universal Profile by selecting your icon in the top-left of the main menu.
  2. Search: Navigate to the Friends tab and search for your friend’s exact Xbox Live Gamertag or PSN ID.
  3. Invite: Once they accept, invite them directly to your game lobby from your in-game friends list.
Managing Crossplay Settings
If you want to match only with players on your console (to reduce input lag or connection issues), you can turn crossplay off:
  • In-Game (PS5/Xbox): Open your profile from the main menu, scroll right to find the crossplay toggle, and set it to Off.
  • System Level (Xbox): If the in-game toggle doesn’t work, go to Settings > Account > Privacy & online safety > Xbox privacy > View details & customize > Communication & multiplayer, then block “You can join cross-network play.”
MLB The Show 26’s crossplay is smooth and simple, giving you flexibility to play your way. Whether you stick to your console or go full cross-platform, the game keeps your friends and progress connected.
