eznpc Why speed is king for PoE 1 currency gains
#1
Hitting a fresh Path of Exile league is always a bit of a mad dash, isn't it? Everyone's hunting for that secret sauce to get their stash tabs overflowing with orbs and high-tier gear. But honestly, the biggest mistake I see—and I've definitely been guilty of it—is overcomplicating things. You don't need to be some 10,000-hour veteran to make decent bank; you just need to stop wasting your limited playtime on stuff that doesn't pay out. Some players find it easier to just pick up the cheapest poe currency to get their build off the ground, but if you're grinding, you've got to be smart. It's all about working with the time you have instead of trying to do everything at once. The golden rule in Wraeclast is simple: speed beats everything else.
Stop overcomplicating your map runs
I've seen way too many players grinding out these super tough, high-tier maps that take them ten or fifteen minutes to clear. They think the loot will be better because the monsters are stronger, but it's a total trap. You're much better off blasting through a map like Strand, Cemetery, or Dunes in two minutes flat. It's all about that "monsters killed per hour" metric. If you're constantly backtracking or getting stuck in awkward corners because of a bad map layout, you're basically throwing currency away. Keep it simple, keep it fast, and keep the momentum going. If you aren't moving, you aren't making money.
Fix your loot filter and specialize
Your loot filter situation is probably holding you back. If your screen is cluttered with yellow items and low-tier bases, you're doing it wrong. A strict filter is your best friend when you're trying to be efficient. It feels a bit weird leaving stuff on the ground at first, especially when you're starting out, but trust me, the time you save by not clicking on junk is time you spend killing more mobs. It's the same logic with your Atlas tree. Don't try to be a jack-of-all-trades. Pick one or two mechanics you actually enjoy—maybe Breach or Delirium—and go all in on those nodes. Specializing is how you actually land the drops that matter.
Don't let your items rot in the stash
One thing that really kills profit for average players is what I call "stash rot." We all do it—holding onto essences, scarabs, or fragments thinking the price will double in a week. Usually, it's way better to just sell that stuff early. Getting your key build upgrades on day three instead of day ten means you can farm much harder content much sooner. If you're looking to skip the early struggle, you can always use eznpc to get the items or currency you need to push your character further. That early-game momentum is worth way more than a few extra chaos orbs you might get by waiting for the "perfect" market price. Lastly, don't feel like you need a multi-mirror build to be efficient. A solid league starter with decent clear speed will do 90% of the heavy lifting. Just keep the maps rolling and stay out of your hideout.
